Why Iceland
Iceland is the one destination where the itinerary matters less than the weather and the driving. The Ring Road is 1,332 kilometres of black sand, waterfalls and almost nothing else, and the whole trip turns on knowing which detours are worth the extra two hours and which ones are a photograph you already have.

Northern lights, honestly planned
Nobody can promise you an aurora. What we can do is put you in dark-sky bases for enough consecutive nights that the odds stop being a gamble.

Glacier lagoon and Diamond Beach
Jökulsárlón at the right hour, when the icebergs catch light and the tour coaches haven't arrived yet.

Hot springs that aren't the Blue Lagoon
The famous one is fine. The Secret Lagoon, Mývatn Nature Baths and a few unmarked roadside pools are better.

Reykjavík & the Golden Circle
Þingvellir, Geysir, Gullfoss, done early, before the day-trip fleet leaves the capital.
- Days 3 – 4
The south coast
Seljalandsfoss, Skógafoss, Reynisfjara's black sand, and Vík as a base rather than a photo stop.
- Days 5 – 6
Glacier country
Skaftafell, an ice cave or glacier walk in season, and the lagoon at golden hour.
- Days 7 – 9
East fjords & the north
Seyðisfjörður, Mývatn, Goðafoss and Akureyri, the half of Iceland most visitors never reach.
