Why Indonesia

Seventeen thousand islands, and most trips see one small corner of one of them. Bali earns its reputation if you base yourself correctly, but Java's temples, Komodo's water and the Gili islands are all within reach of the same holiday, and they're what turns a beach week into a genuine trip.

Ubud and Seminyak are ninety minutes and two entirely different holidays apart. Choosing wrongly costs you the week.

What you'll actually do

The Indonesia we'd plan for you

Not a list of sights, the specific things that make the difference between having been somewhere and having experienced it.

01

Ubud, inland

Rice terraces, Tirta Empul, and the valley walks at dawn before the day-trip vans arrive from the coast.

02

Nusa Penida

A hard day trip and worth every bump in the road. Kelingking, Broken Beach, and water that doesn't look real.

03

Borobudur at sunrise

A short hop to Java for the largest Buddhist temple in the world, seen in the hour it was built for.

04

Komodo & Flores

For divers and anyone who wants the version of Indonesia that hasn't been photographed to death.

A route that works

What a trip here can look like

A starting point, not a package. Every route we build gets reshaped around your dates, your pace and who's travelling.

  1. Days 1 – 4

    Ubud

Temples, terraces, a cooking class, and the waterfall circuit done before the crowds.

  2. Days 5 – 6

    Nusa Penida or the Gilis

Day trip or overnight, depending on how much of the trip you want in the water.

  3. Days 7 – 10

    The south coast

Uluwatu, Sanur or Seminyak, chosen for the version of the coast you actually want.

  4. Days 11 – 13

    Java, optional

Yogyakarta, Borobudur and Prambanan for travellers who want the history alongside the beaches.
